We believe that unique, beautiful artworks should be enjoyed by everyone, not just by one sole collector. Thus, we established Modern Museum – a unique and innovative approach which bridges the gap between artists and art lovers in a more sustainable and attainable way.

FEATURED ARTISTS

Our first featured artist for the launch of Modern Museum is talented local artist, Kristi Marié Pretorius.

Kristi has created an exclusive range of diverse artworks for her first collection with us featuring a variety of pieces from picturesque landscape scenes, nude portraits and abstract watercolour and acrylic pieces that emphases the rich colours and free-flowing, fluid movement.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Kristi Marié Pretorius, crafts a wide range of abstract scenes which focus on the appreciation of colour. Kristi uses an array of different of mediums such as watercolours, acrylics, oils and alcohol ink to highlight the colour in her subject matter, glorifying the light.

The fluid motion and cool toned colours used across Kristi’s abstract watercolour and acrylic artwork evokes a calming, serene feeling within, with the main focus on the organic movement within the art. While the warm tones in her landscape scenes evokes a feeling of familiarity and happiness.

The reoccurring focal points across all of Kristi's artwork highlights organic, fluid movements within the art, as well as the bold, vibrant colours. The emphasis on light and free-flowing forms creates a unified, harmonic feel across the collection and reinforces the celebration of light and colour.

Our mission with Modern Museum is to expertly reproduce original artwork for everyone to enjoy and appreciate in their own homes, for the modern day individual to be able to create their own personal museum in their home. We are constantly expanding our portfolio of renowned local and international artists whom each have their own unique style and innovative methods for creating one-of-a-kind artworks.
