Interior Design Trends To Look Out For In 2022

What Home Design Trends You Should Look Out For In 2022

The new year is on its way and it’s time to start looking at the interior design trends 2022. With two rather difficult years behind us, it’s essential to create a home that we’re comfortable with. And the home decor trends of 2022 reflect that sentiment. With each new year comes an opportunity to re-think the way we have styled and displayed our spaces, and how we can create more comfort, style and beauty in our homes.

While over the past few years home design has been more focused on acquiring what is currently trending, we may see a shift in 2022 towards personal expression rather than fad trends. With the Pantone colour of the year being “Veri Peri”, a bright, joyous purple shade, which according to Pantone is all about carefree confidence and self-expression, this further adds to the forecast of personal expression through home decorating being more of the focus rather than following set trends.

Our interior design team has put together a list of just a few of the design trends that you may notice coming through in 2022.

  1. Grand Millennial Décor

Grand millennial décor can be categorised as styling antique and thrifted décor pieces amongst modern home furniture and décor pieces to create a traditional aesthetic with a fresh, younger twist. Think vintage décor on a budget and that is what grand millennial décor essential is. Styling historic pieces that are either handed down, found at thrift stores and estate sales or purchased on marketplaces with your more modern generic furniture pieces creates a look that the younger generation are loving so far in 2022.

  1. Luxury accents

Whilst we may not all be able to afford the finer things in life, there are certain pieces that ooze luxury and fall within our wider budget. Adding chic, luxe statement pieces that are of excellent quality allows you to make a big statement in your home that is elegantly timeless and so is adaptable to future changes in design trends. Think big statement mirrors, bold occasional chairs and oversized clocks.

  1. Eye-Catching Couches

At Leather Gallery we specialise in all things couches, from leather lounge suites, leather recliners and leather corner couches to fabric lounge suites, fabric corner sofas and fabric recliner suites. While neutral toned couches are a great option, we suspect that in 2022 we will see more and more colour coming through in our sofas. With our expansive array of custom colour options, customers have the option to custom order colour couches for their homes.

  1. Curved Furniture

While curved furniture might not be everyone’s cup of tea, we are starting to see more variations of curved furniture coming through the 2022 home interior trends from couches and occasional chairs to waterfall tables, servers and décor pieces.

  1. Large Oversized Faux Plants

Using plants and greenery to decorate your home has been a trend for many years and we do not see this trend slowing down anytime soon. At Leather Gallery we have crafted an incredible range of faux greenery to style around your home as an easy way to add colour to your home. From flowers and stems to plants and pot plant sets, our range of artificial plants is available in a variety of sizes and shapes.
