WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SERVER AND SIDEBOARD?

When you think of dining room furniture, you immediately think about a dining room table and dining chairs. We often forget about other dining room furniture such as a server or sideboard. Dining room storage is available in all shapes and sizes, as well as styles. There are various features that differentiate the various dining storage furniture items from each other. Servers and sideboards are our favourite dining room storage solutions as they are both stylish and functional.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SERVER AND A SIDEBOARD?

SIDEBOARDS

Sideboards are long, low lying storage pieces that generally have shorter, thicker legs or feet. Sideboards are designed to come up to your hip or waist to allow you to easily serve food when hosting. Adding a sideboard to your dining room allows you to add a great accent furniture piece that adds large amounts of storage and serving space.

THE CHARLESTON SIDEBOARD

The Charleston Sideboard is a beautiful, traditional sideboard that highlights simple, classic designs in the beauty of its raw natural wooden finish and simple yet sophisticated carving. Featuring two smaller drawers on either side of the large centred drawer, as well as four big cupboards underneath, the Charleston Sideboard has enough space to fit all of your wine glasses, serving dishes and the best china. The Charleston Sideboard is also a great place to store vases, napkins, and any other table linens you may have.

THE URBAN SIDEBOARD

The Urban Sideboard is a traditional sideboard that highlights favourable classic styling with simple finishes. The generous amounts of storage space of the Urban Sideboard are unmatched. Featuring three large drawers down the centre of the sideboard, and two grand cupboards on either side of the drawers, the Urban Sideboard has more than enough space to fit all of your dinner party essentials, from wine glasses and serving dishes to your very best china.

SERVERS

Servers are much smaller in scale compared to sideboards, they also feature a much more casual look and feel with their open mid-section. Servers are traditionally placed wherever the food will be served, but they are still ideal even if you have a smaller dining room area.  Servers are more than just a place to serve your guests from, they function as an accent piece to minimalistic piece that you can both serve food from and store some of your table linen and fancy cutlery in.

THE LEGACY SERVER

Your dining room table and dining chairs will always be the star of your dining room. However, it is important to complete the space with the relevant furniture pieces such as servers. The Legacy Server is a small, compact server that is ideal for dining rooms that may be short on space. The perfect mix of class and style, the Legacy Server features a clear glass top that will create the illusion of more space, while adding a stylish feel to your dining room area.

THE MARA SERVER

The Mara Server has a sleek clear glass top and a thin framed metal base that is arranged in a geometric pattern. Rich with urban flair, this Server will bring a bit of industrial city life to your interiors. Designed to resemble a gemstone, the Mara Server is the epitome of luxury and class.

THE URBAN SERVER

The Urban Drawer Server celebrates simple, clean designs and high-quality materials and craftsmanship. The timeless charm of the Urban Drawer Server makes it the ideal open server for any dining room space. The two large drawers of the server provide the necessary storage space for you to store away your table linen, placemats, silverware and other dining essentials to keep your dining room neat and clutter free.
