    Materials & Craftsmanship

    Is your furniture genuine Leather?

    Yes. Our furniture is made using genuine leather. Some designs are upholstered in full leather, while others use genuine leather on contact areas with leather uppers on non-contact areas.

    What is the difference between full leather and leather uppers?

    Full leather means genuine leather is used on all visible surfaces. Leather uppers use genuine leather on contact areas (seats, backrests, armrests) and high-quality PVC on non-contact areas like the sides and back.

    Why does leather vary in colour or texture?

    Leather varies because it is a natural material, and no two hides are identical. Differences in grain, colour, and texture occur naturally during the animal’s life and tanning process. Markings such as scars, tick bites, stretch marks, and vein lines are normal, not defects, and do not affect quality or durability.

    Can I customise my furniture?

    Yes. Selected ranges can be customised in colour, configuration, and size. Options vary by model. Speak to a sales consultant in-store or online for guidance.

    How long do custom orders take for delivery?

    Custom orders take longer than standard stock items. Lead times are confirmed at the time of order, but as a guideline, custom colours typically take 6–8 weeks for delivery.

    How do I place a custom order?

    You can place a custom order online or in-store. Online, select your preferred configuration, colour, and finishes on the product page before adding the item to your cart and completing checkout. In-store, a consultant will guide you through available configurations, materials, and swatches.
    Once confirmed, your item is made to order, with lead times provided at the time of purchase.

    Delivery, Collection, Assembly & Installation

    Do you offer delivery?

    Yes. We deliver across South Africa. Delivery fees and timelines vary depending on your location and the items ordered.

    How long does delivery take?

    Delivery times depend on the item. At Leather Gallery, in-stock items are typically delivered within 7–14 working days. Custom orders take approximately 6–8 weeks, depending on production and material availability. Your consultant will confirm your estimated delivery timeframe at checkout.

    Will my furniture be assembled?

    Assembly depends on the item. Many pieces are delivered fully assembled, while others may require minor assembly. Where assembly is required, this will be clearly indicated on the product page, and a copy of the assembly instructions will be provided. For deliveries, our team will deliver and place your furniture in your home. For collections, some items may be pre-assembled, while others may require assembly after collection.

    Do you offer in-store collection?

    Yes. Collection is available from our Riverhorse showroom (Durban), subject to item type and applicable fees.

    Can I collect from any showroom?

    No. Larger furniture items can only be collected from the Riverhorse showroom. At other showrooms, collection is limited to décor items only (such as rugs, paintings, and accessories).

    What are the collection fee?

    Collection fees vary depending on the items:
    · More than 2 dining chairs: R500
    · Leather Gallery Everyday products (warehouse collection): R200
    · All other furniture items: R500
    The following items can be collected free of charge: coffee tables, side tables, 1–2 dining chairs, and décor items (including rugs, paintings, and accessories). Payment must be confirmed before collection. T’s & Cs apply.

    Warranty, Returns & Support

    What is your warranty policy?

    Warranty periods vary by product. Unless otherwise specified, a standard six-month warranty applies. This covers manufacturing defects only and excludes negligence, misuse, fair wear and tear, and lack of proper care.

    What is considered fair wear and tear?

    Fair wear and tear refers to natural changes that occur over time due to regular use, environmental exposure, and the ageing of materials, particularly with leather.

    Do your leather products come with a warranty?

    Leather is a natural material with unique characteristics. Variations in colour, tone, and texture, as well as markings such as scars, tick bites, stretch marks, and vein patterns, are normal and not covered under warranty.

    We recommend regular care to maintain your furniture. Clean with a warm, damp cloth, avoid harsh or acidic cleaners, and condition every 2–3 months to keep the leather soft and supple.

    How do I log a support or warranty query?

    Submit your query via our Customer Query Form through the customer portal. Include a valid invoice or proof of purchase, clear photographs of the issue, and your contact and purchase details.
    We are unable to assess warranty claims without proof of purchase. Providing complete information upfront helps us assist you more efficiently.

    What are your returns and refunds policies?

    For online purchases, if you are dissatisfied due to a defect, an incorrect item received, or another valid reason, eligible items may be returned within 7 days of delivery. Depending on the circumstance, you may receive a refund, Leather Gallery wallet credit, or have the item repaired or replaced.

    For in-store purchases, returns and refund requests must be handled through your sales consultant, who will assist you in submitting the request in line with our policies.

    Product Care & Maintenance

    How do I care for my leather furniture?

    Clean your leather furniture using a damp microfiber or cotton cloth with lukewarm water. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, acidic cleaners, and excessive moisture. Keep furniture away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent drying or fading.

    With proper care under normal domestic use, leather will age naturally, developing character while remaining soft and comfortable. These natural changes are not considered defects.

    Can sunlight damage leather furniture?

    Yes. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause leather to fade, dry out, and age prematurely. Position furniture away from direct sunlight where possible.

    What is Leather Cleaner?

    A leather cleaner removes dirt, oils, dust, and light stains without damaging the material. Regular cleaning prevents buildup that can cause discolouration or premature ageing.

    What is Leather Conditioner

    A leather conditioner moisturises and nourishes the leather, helping it stay soft and flexible. Regular conditioning reduces the risk of drying, cracking, and premature wear - especially in environments with heat, cold, or high humidity.

    RECOMMENDED CARE FREQUENCY
    Clean and condition every 2–3 months under normal residential use. For high-use furniture or extreme climates, increase to every 1–2 months. Always follow cleaning with a light application of conditioner to maintain suppleness.

    Payment & Financing Options

    Do you offer layups or installments?

    Yes. We offer lay-bys through LayUp, as well as Special Order Payment Plans for up to 12 months. Speak to a consultant in-store or online to find the option that suits you. Learn more about our payment methods.

    Can I apply for Finance online?

    Yes. You can apply for finance online or in-store. Applications are subject to the requirements and approval criteria of our finance partners.

    Can I pay off my order early?

    Yes. Early settlement is generally allowed, depending on your financing provider. Please confirm the terms during your application. A minimum of 2 months’ written notice is required before your final payment to arrange shipment and delivery. T’s & Cs apply.

    Do you have catalogues?

    Yes. Our catalogues are available online and in-store. You can access them via the Catalogues section on our website.

    Can prices differ online and in-store?

    Leather Gallery prices are usually consistent online and in-store, but promotional offers may differ by channel or location. Please confirm with a consultant if needed.
