LEATHER GALLERY – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Yes, our furniture is made using genuine leather. Depending on the design, some products feature full leather on all surfaces, while others use genuine leather on the main contact areas, with leather uppers on non-contact areas.
-
- Full leather: Genuine leather on all visible areas of the furniture.

This enables us to offer high-quality leather furniture at various price points.
-
Leather is a natural material, so variations in grain, shade, and texture are normal and part of its unique character. Genuine leather may also show natural markings such as subtle scars, tick bites, stretch marks, or vein markings. These are not defects and do not affect durability or quality; they reflect the leather’s organic origins and add to the authenticity of each piece.

Warranty periods may vary by product. Unless a product description specifies a warranty longer than six months, a standard six-month warranty applies. This warranty covers manufacturing defects only and does not cover negligence, fair wear and tear, misuse, or lack of proper care.
-
Fair wear and tear includes natural changes that occur over time due to regular use, environmental exposure, or ageing of materials, especially with leather products.
-
Leather is a natural material with unique characteristics. Variations in colour, tone, and texture are normal, and natural markings such as subtle scars, tick bites, stretch marks, or vein patterns may appear. These features are part of the leather’s character and beauty. Leather Gallery does not offer a warranty for these natural characteristics.
We recommend proper care to keep your furniture looking its best: wipe regularly with a clean, warm, damp cloth, avoid solvents or acidic cleaners, and condition every 2–3 months with our specialised leather care products. With regular care, your leather can remain soft, supple, and enjoyable for many years.

To maintain the appearance and longevity of your leather furniture, gently clean the surface using a damp microfiber or cotton cloth with lukewarm water. Avoid harsh, solvent-based, or acidic cleaners, as well as extreme heat or direct sunlight, which can damage or dry out the leather.
With proper care under normal domestic use, leather will age naturally, retaining its softness and comfort over time. Natural changes that occur with use are part of the leather’s character and are not considered faults.
-
Yes, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause leather to fade or dry out over time. We recommend positioning furniture away from direct sunlight where possible.
-
Leather cleaner removes dirt, oils, dust, and minor stains from your leather furniture without harming the material. Regular cleaning helps prevent buildup that can dry out, discolour, or prematurely age the leather.
-
Leather conditioner nourishes and moisturises the leather, keeping it soft, supple, and flexible. Conditioning slows down natural drying, cracking, and ageing - especially in environments with heat, cold, or high humidity.
-
DOs:
- Wipe leather regularly with lukewarm water, using a damp microfiber cloth.
- Clean your leather furniture every 2–3 months under normal use.
- Condition your leather furniture every 2–3 months to keep it soft and supple.
- For high-use furniture or extreme environments, increase frequency to every 1–2 months.
- Dry or hot climates: clean and condition every 1–2 months.
- Humid climates: clean and condition every 1–2 months to prevent moisture issues.
- Use leather-specific cleaners and conditioners only.
- Keep furniture out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources, radiators, or humidifiers.
DON’Ts:
- Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, or acidic cleaners.
- Avoid scrubbing aggressively or using abrasive cloths.
- Do not let spills, oils, or dirt sit for long periods.
- Avoid placing leather near radiators, heaters, or humidifiers.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
For normal residential use, cleaning and conditioning every 2–3 months is sufficient. For high-use furniture or extreme climates, clean and condition every 1–2 months. Always follow with a light coat of conditioner to maintain suppleness. -
